Hello everyone and welcome back to this weeks report!  What a great week of fishing we have had here in the Upper Florida Keys!  The fishing has been phenomenal!

The Sailfishing has been solid all week just south of Islamorada, with a few boats getting into double digits.  A lot of really small fish around, but good numbers of them.  These fish have been in shallow waters on the rocks and catching them showering or just swimming in the shallows has been the best if it.

Offshore Fishing - Lots of Sailfish!!!

The offshore sword ledge produced a few nice fish this week even with the moon in its current state, so if the weather holds up, that is a good option.

The bonus with fishing these waters this week was some really nice Mahi that showed up on a weed edge in 209-250’ of water this past week. The edge was producing all the way north to Miami, so that was a very nice addition to the rest of the great fishing.

Wreck & Reef - Awesome Kings & Plenty of Action!

The wrecks and deep ledges have had a solid bite of really nice King Mackerels, with a little bit of the supporting cast of fish.  Even the African Pompanos have been good this week, so lots of action in these areas.

The Yellowtail Snapper’s bite was a bit on the slow side this week as the water temps were a bit on the cool side, but there was plenty of other fish around so no worries.

On That Note...

Looking forward to the weekend to see how it all holds up, but it appears that winter blast definitely sparked things up!  Be safe out there, and we will see ya next week!

Tight Lines,
Capt. James Chappell
