Check out this weeks Islamorada fishing report from our expert charter captain James Chappell as he describes the deep sea and wreck & reef trips.

Hello everyone, and welcome back to this week’s report!  It has been a bit crazy this week with weather and the fishing, but we are getting though it.

Deep Sea Fishing - Good Fishing, Weird Weather

Some good fishing this week offshore with some weird weather, but the green water from the gulf has pushed some good numbers of Blackfin Tunas into our area.  There is not a lot of Sailfish and other Pelagics, but the Tuna fishing has been good.  A few Sailfish around, with some kings, but nothing too crazy.  A few early season Mahi have been roaming around, but that is to be expected.

Wreck & Reef Fishing - Mixed Bag with Shark Troubles

On the wrecks & Reefs, the bottom fishing has been decent as well, but the sharks are making life difficult as usual.  Some nice Mutton Snappers, Amber Jacks, and Bar Jacks have really been the best of it.  Even a few Cobia around to round out a little mixed bag here and there.  Looking forward to some nice weather for the weekend.

On That Note...

Check back next week for a new report! Be safe and Happy Easter!

Tight Lines,
Capt. James Chappell
